Legacy hardware Remote Control

Full remote control of legacy appliance controller, without modifying the current hardware.
The project was based on custom hardware designed to read the customers board I/O channels, without affecting the normal behaviour of the board, and using the information to communicate with a cloud service so the final user could control the device via a custom web interface on any mobile phone or pc.
Initial configuration was required using a local AP which enabled the user to input it's local wifi credentials.

A product with wifi-only connection gained bluetooth connectivity, plus Android and iOS applications.
A new hardware was developed for the customer, enabling not only wifi connectivity but also bluetooth, easing the initial configuration process and improving overall performance of the system.
The new mobile applications allowed the user to have an overall better experience when using the product remotely, and at the same time gaining new ways to communicate with the hardware.

Bluetooth to Wifi Expansion

The client had a product already with bluetooth connectivity, but wanted a way to better control their devices. A new product was developed, which had bluetooth and wifi capabilities. This new device would connect to as many bluetooth terminals that the customer had, and concentrate all of them on a simple web based configuration page. This was all done without interfering with the products firmware, so backwards compatibility was assured. The project included hardware design, firmware, and full-stack development for the web page.

A new product in development, including 5G connectivity, needed a cloud service to enable support and remote configuration. A full-featured webpage was created, including MQTT protocol design, database, user control, administration of users and devices, OTA firmware update capabilities. The project involved programming the cloud services frontend and backend

PCB Design

During the development of a new product, an old board needed major redesign to be fitted in a smaller casing, along with the development of a new board including a new microprocessor to control it. The project required a complete redesign of the old board, and the design from scratch of the new controller board. Besides schematic capturing, PCB layout and BOM selection, 3D models of the boards were generated to assist on the casing mechanical design and fitting.
